Project Details

Kenny Wright, Estates Officer for the Borders NHS Trust, started looking at low energy lighting for the laundry room at the Borders General Hospital but quickly found that many LED lighting manufacturers were unwilling to honour their guarantees in the 40°C-50°C operating temperatures. Combine this with a requirement for a physically durable and glass free product able to cope with the high humidity levels, and the CREE range quickly came to the fore.

Borders NHS Trust reduces annual running costs by 75%

Bespoke Lighting Design

The icLighting in-house design team worked with the Estates Team to develop a lighting scheme which increased the light levels and the quality of the light.

With a 10 year guarantee, backed by one of the world’s largest LED manufacturers, and products manufactured in the EU, the team chose CREE CPYs supplied by icLighting .
