DB Schenker Logistics

Project Details

With around 2,000 locations in all of the world’s most important economic regions, DB Schenker has a global network geared toward customer service, quality and sustainability. When it came time to update the antiquated sodium lighting in Basildon, DB Schenker naturally chose a low energy LED lighting solution.

DB Schenker Logistics reduces annual running costs by 74%

Bespoke Lighting Design

The icLighting in-house design team worked with them to develop a lighting scheme which not only reduced the number of fittings from 180 to 142 but also increased the light levels.

With a 10 year guarantee, lamp changes and maintenance have become a things of the past. This has not only saved in direct maintenance costs but has also removed the inconvenience and health and safety issues associated with having to work around maintenance crews in the busy 24/7 working environment.

A Positive Result

DB Schenker are delighted at achieving a 68% reduction in energy used and a payback in under 2 years.

Michael Hicks, FD at DB Schenker, said “Despite seeing the projected figures I was astonished when my electricity bill came in at over £3000 less than last month.”

DB Schenker have been so happy with the icLighting solution that they have followed the project in Basildon with two further projects to replace the lighting at Nuneaton and Manchester.
